What are your hours of operation?

The AmeriGuard OFFICE & ACCESS hours are always posted directly to Google.
If you are wondering about a specific holiday check our Google page, or call the office directly.

The AmeriGuard ACCESS hours:
The AmeriGuard gate can be accessed using your personalized electronic pin from 6:00am to 10:00pm if you have an active rental with us.

The AmeriGuard EMERGENCY hours:
The AmeriGuard emergency line is available 24/7; We do our best to monitor and respond to these types of calls asap no matter the time of day.

What Storage Sizes do you offer?

AmeriGuard offers storage units ranging in size from 5’x10’ to 12’x30’.

How do I rent a storage unit?

Two primary methods: Phone or In-Store
Our 24/7 on-site managers are happy to help you select the proper size and set up your profile for you. All that is needed is a valid driver’s license and single signature on the rental agreement.

Do I need insurance for my stored property?

Although majority of the storage facilities out there require this…

AmeriGuard does NOT require personal property protection currently. However, we highly recommend our customers to select this option as standard procedure.

Check with your homeowners or renters’ insurance to see if your stored property is covered by your current policy. If you find that you do not have coverage for your items, we can connect you with our 3rd party provider to ensure you’re covered.

What are my actual move-in costs?

First month’s rent and a nominal $10 administrative fee if you have never rented with us before. Once you move in, your rental is on a month-to-month basis.

There are occasional move-in specials, but we tend to be less expensive than all of our competition anyway.

How does payment work?

AmeriGuard takes ALL TYPES of payment. (Card, Cash, Check, E-Payment, Money Order, etc…) Majority of our customers prefer to set up AutoPay with a credit or debit card.

What can’t I store in my storage unit?

Common sense and state laws determine what can be stored. Since you alone have access to your space, do not store anything that needs a controlled environment. This would include live animals and plants, explosive or flammable items, toxic materials, food, or liquids. Do not tempt unwanted critters with food, candles, dried flowers or your favorite sweater.

How do I prevent damage from pests?

We inspect & service our facility; as well as apply pest repellent on a regular basis. Our staff can also provide you with specific packing tips to ensure that your stored property is not damaged.

Will my stuff be safe at AmeriGuard Storage Centers?

We are one of the ONLY storage facilities who have ON-SITE managers LIVING on the premises; Security checks are performed regularly.
We PRIDE ourselves with safety and security.

Don’t believe us? Ask the local PD the safest place to store your stuff.
There’s a reason we’re at 100% capacity majority of the year, and it’s not solely our pricing.

Is there a minimum rental period?

Nope! Rent is Month-to-Month. It is prorated upon move-in, not on move-out. 
Once you’re done with the space just notify the office and you’re good to go.
It’s that simple!

Can I use my own lock?

Yes, you absolutely can use your own lock.
However, we do offer cylinder locks; they are much more robust and relatively impossible to pick or cut.

Can I reserve a unit in advance?

This is not a common practice, however if you give the local office a call and the unit size is available they will put you on a list to contact you if/when our inventory is running short on that specific size/style of unit. 

If the unit size/style is not currently available, you will be placed on a waiting list to be contacted when it becomes available.

What if I need to cancel my rental agreement?

It’s month-to-month, so just let us know when you’re moved out and that’s it!

What if I loose my key or forget my gate code?

Loose Your Key(s):
If you loose a key and need your lock cut we DO offer lock cutting services in house and can do so with reasonable notice.
Alternatively, you can hire a certified locksmith, with approval from the office staff, to come and remove your lock at your own cost.

Forget Gate Code:
If you are unable to get into the gate and may have forgotten your gate code you can pop your head in the office: Our On-Site managers will be happy to assist in looking up your gate code and/or resetting it as needed.

What happens if I fail to pay my rent?

Thankfully AmeriGuard doesn’t have to deal with this situation too often.
However, if this does happen AmeriGuard will continue to Email and Text notices of late payments, and liens on property prior to auction date.

AmeriGuard is NOT in the business of auctioning people’s personal belongings off. 
We do whatever we can to work with our customers to avoid these situations.

Can I share a storage unit with someone else?

Of course! However, your rental agreement will be made out in ONE TENANT’S name with the Second Tenant listed as the emergency contact. All rights and responsibilities are the listed Tenant as signed.

Are your units climate-controlled?

Yes! We do have climate-controlled units at the Swartz Creek location.
They go fast, so I would suggest calling our office for availability.
