American Associates REALTORS was established on September 16th of 1983 under the guidance of Randy & Carol Haney. 42 YEARS LATER we have handed out over 557,000 flags and served almost 20,000 families. Our highly experienced agents are located all over the great state of Michigan and are all proud to be an American.
As you receive this flag, and go through the motions of barbequing and watching fireworks; remember what this day is about. The freedoms we celebrate, and what the flag you're holding represents. It has been a symbol of freedom and justice for almost 250 years, and a source of pride and unity for all Americans. Though our world continues to change, we hope the flag remains the same in your hearts and minds as it does ours. A symbol of Justice, Liberty, and Freedom; in the greatest country of the world.
As our name may suggest, AMERICAN Associates Realtors has been giving out American Flags since its infancy. One of the most uplifting feelings is witnessing the multitude of glowing smiles when handing out a flag to every Man, Woman, or Child possible on Independence Day. The amount of gratitude and cheerfulness in the crowd is overwhelming; you can literally feel it in the air.
A surprising fact about our history; American Associates used to hand out between 30,000 - 40,000 Flags PER YEAR. Many of our locals to this day believe that the individual Cities and Townships, organized the placing of flags in the downtown strips and in individual yards. Little did they know, it was AMERICAN ASSOCIATES REALTORS all along.
The flag project took place once a year on the 3rd of July starting at roughly 11PM ~ 3AM. Volunteer groups from Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, Local Schools, Church groups, etc… all came together and each of the kids involved raised money for their troop per flag they placed in the ground.
The kids loved it, the programs loved it, but most importantly the PEOPLE loved it! Every street you drove down had flags LINING each side of the road. We received NUMEROUS calls thanking us for such a wonderful patriotic gesture.
After several years of this, July 4th has become the highlight of our year. It carried the MOST PATRIOTIC feeling ever. Being a part of something bigger, and giving back to our community is the best feeling in the world, second to helping a family with a real estate problem when they’re in dire need.
